The Two Distilleries ConceptThe whisky was created by Ichiro Akuto, one of the most respected figures in contemporary Japanese whisky. Ichiro rescued the final remaining casks of this historic malt.Chichibu Distillery: The distillery founded by Ichiro himself in 2008 to carry on his family’s legacy.
The Aging ProfileThe complexity of this iconic green-labeled bottle (often known as the Green Leaf) comes from a unique combination of woods:The Hanyu malt brings robustness and structure, having been matured in old Sherry Hogsheads. The Chichibu malt provides freshness and sweetness, aged in new Japanese Mizunara Oak casks.
