PICASSO, COCTEAU and TOULOUSE-LAUTREC at auction

Meeting on Saturday, March 9 at Ivoire Nîmes

Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec or Jean Cocteau… so many famous artists ‘ names gathered for the next sale of objets d’art, paintings and furnishings on Saturday, March 9 at Françoise Kusel and Pierre Champion, auctioneers of ivory France. In addition to their passion for the Mediterranean region which inspires them for a great period of their life, Cocteau and Picasso have the common point of having produced later ceramic works testifying to the influence of this region on these two artists. The ceramic dish signed by Picasso for sale on 9 March and entitled “face Gris” is estimated between 4000 and 5000 euros; Jean Cocteau’s ceramic work entitled “the afternoon of a fauna”, most likely inspired by the Ballet of which Claude Debussy composed the prelude, is estimated between 1500 and €2000.

Among the friends of Pablo Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec. Ivoire Nîmes presents a drawing of the artist, “woman disactivated”, estimated between 2000 and €3000. These three lots are part of a sale of nearly 600 lots which includes a collection of Longwy enamels and glass pastes from the Daum, Lalique and Gallé houses. The exhibition will take place on Wednesday, March 6 from 2:30 to 6pm and Thursday, March 7 from 10am to 6pm. The catalog is visible on interencheres.com/30001 and ivoire-nimes.fr. _______________________________________________________________________
