How do you pay? American man!

D * Face: a London street artist attracted to the USA

D * Face, allias Dean Stockton, is a street artist, Illustrator and sculptor, one of the most prolific contemporary artists of his generation. He was born in 1978 in London where he currently lives and works.

As a teenager, he is fascinated by the United States and dreams of living the American dream. He is fond of skateboarding and drawing, but in reading the Subway Art and journals Spraycan Art from the American Henry Chalfant, he discovered his vocation. These books include hundreds of photographs of Graffiti from New York, of the 1970s and 80s.

His favorite subject: the obsession with celebrities and mass consumption society

After studying design, he started working as an Illustrator while developing his art of street. His favorite subject is the compulsive obsession with celebrities and mass consumption society. He uses the term 'aPOPcalyptic' to describe his work, which often includes images of cultural icons (Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, the Queen of England, etc.)

Its purpose is "to encourage people to not only see, but also to look at what surrounds them, rethinking stereotypes of our culture, do not remain passive before the reign of conspicuous consumption", explains D * Face.

American man: a satirical work

D * Face uses various mediums and techniques, mixing spray, sticker, stencil paints.

The batch presented at auction on 12 December at the Hotel in the Valley of Montmorency sales is very representative of the art of D * Face. In the guise of a credit card called "American man", the artist has depicted a portrait seen three quarters and decked out in a red clown's nose. The work is represented in a box contained a mini metal safe, satire of the American Dream and the consumer society.

D * Face: a marketable artist

At the beginning of the 2000s, D * Face is recognized as a true artist. In 2005, he opened his own urban art gallery: Stolenspace gallery, located in the neighborhood of Brick Lane in London, where he exhibited, among others, his friend Shepard Fairey (Obey Giant). In 2010 he made the cover of the album of Christina Aguilera: "Bionic". The singer is a loyal collector of the works of D * Face.
