After 1955, he devoted himself specifically to painting; from 1956 to 1961 he taught at the Academy of East Berlin and at the University of Greifswald. In 1960, he quickly returned to architecture. His exhibition path is impressive, both in public and personal institutions, in Italy and abroad. He died in 2002.

He held an innovative and practical position within the Milan group of rationalist designers. He worked with Bottoni, Lingeri and Terragni on competitors and boldly developed works. He participated as a painter or designer in different Triennials in Milan. In 1934 he developed the house in Via Marcora, one of the earliest examples of rationalist architecture in Milan. In 1935, he designed and built metal furniture. It belongs to the CIAM and the MSA and, with Piero Bottoni, he enlarges the experimental district QT8, where he has a prefabricated house built in 1947, thus contributing to the development of the master plan of Milan.
