Raoul Dufy – Raoul Dufy “French Bindings and Prints” First edition exhibition poster. 1953. City of Nice/Mourlot – Années 1950 – Enchères
10,00€
This colorful and decorative poster was printed for an exhibition hosted by the city of Nice at the Galerie des Ponchettes in Nice in 1953. The lithography presented on the poster is “Le casino de la pier” (1927) by Raoul Dufy.
Raoul Dufy (1887-1953) was a famous French Fauvist. While he might be most recognized for his breezy, colorful paintings and illustrations, he also worked with materials such as textiles and ceramics. The poster is printed by Atelier Mourlot, a trailblazer in the art print industry. After WWII they not only printed posters, but their print master Henri Deschamps made designs alongside world famous artists such as Chagall and Matisse. Picasso even had his own corner in their studio for several years!
The poster is in good shape, but the paper is naturally fragile due to age. There are also some minor folds in the edges. Attention Fin des enchères : 2025-12-07 20:31:20
